Our Students need to be made aware of their social and national commitments. For this, there are six National Services Scheme Units in our College, three each for boys and girls. Prof. M.N. Mohamed Abusali Sheik, Prof. M.Sheik Muhaideen Badhusha and Dr. A.S.Shaik Sindha are the NSS Programme Officers for the boys’ units. The NSS Programme officers for the girls’ units are Prof. M. Himaya Jameela, Prof. M. Sulthana Barvin and Prof. A. Parveen Sulthana. They have been working as a team with dedication. An orientation programme for the first year volunteers was held on 29-07-11.
A free Eye Camp (check up) jointly organized by the NSS Units and Vasan Eye Care, Tirunelveli, for staff and students were conducted on 14.09.11.
A one-day special medical camp for the staff and students were organized by the NSS units, with the support of Dr. Mohammed Thamby and the Kayalpattinam M.K.T. Abubaker Memorial Endowment on 14.10.11.
Our volunteers donated a sum of Rs.2040/-. to the Indian Association for the Blind, Chennai, on 25-10-11. A Blood Grouping Camp for all the first year students was organized in association with Karthik Nursing Home, Perumal Puram, Tirunelveli, on 31-10-11.
Our NSS Boys planted saplings during the Independence Day and Republic Day Celebrations. They planted more than 100 saplings on our campus in December 2011. The Tirunelveli Rotary Club and NSS Programme Officers of Boys Units Jointly Planted saplings on 11-11.11. May these trees stand erect like these ones and flower and bear fruits.
A Road Safety Awareness Programme was conducted by the NSS boys units on 06-11-12. Mr. T.K. Muthu Kumar, RTO, Tirunelveli, enlightened the students on traffic Rules and Safe driving.They conducted 15 campus cleaning activities on the college campus.
