ACTIVITIES

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME 2016-2017

The NSS of our College has been very active and vibrant in taking philanthropic initiatives to reach out to the society. A total of six NSS units with six programme officers are in place to serve the society. The activities of our College NSS units are as follows.

  • A campus cleaning drive was organized on 28.06.2016
  • National Yoga day was observed on 29.06.2016
  • Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s Remembrance Day was observed on 27.07.2016
  • 50 Saplings were planted on behalf of the NSS units of our College during the Independence Day Celebrations on 15.08.2016
  • An Orientation for I year students was conducted on behalf of our College NSS on 09.09.2016
  • A Blood Donation Camp was organized by the NSS Units of our College on 17.09.2016
  • An Awareness Programme on Road Safety was organized on 19.09.2016.
  • A Special Medical Camp was organized on behalf of the NSS units of our college on 23.09.2016.
  • A film Neerindri Amaiyaa Ulagu which promotes the preservation of water was screened on 11.01.2017.
  • National Voters’ Day was observed on 25.01.2017.
  • Saplings were planted on behalf of the NSS units of our College during the Republic Day Celebrations on 26.01.2017.
  • An Awareness Programme on Nutritious Food for Women’s Health was organized on 30.01.2017.
  • A Blood Donation and Blood Group Identification Camp was organized on 31.01.2017. The importance and need of donating blood was emphasized during the camp which was inaugurated by Dr. Karunakaran, District Collector, Tirunelveli.
  • International Forest Day was observed on 21.03.2017 on behalf of our college NSS units. With the view to creating awareness on global warming and deforestation, 25 saplings were planted on the college campus.

Voters’ Awareness cum Corruption and Black Money Eradication Programme was organized on behalf of the NSS units and Youth Welfare on 25.01.2017 with Thiru. S. Muthu Raman, Inspector, Swach Bharath Scheme, Thiru. Rajendran, A Renowned Poet and President of Pothigai Tamil Sangam, Thiru. Mahalingam, Pandiyan Grama Bank and Thiru. Boswel Aasir, were the Chief Guests.
