THE ACTIVITIES OF THE CAREER GUIDANCE AND PLACEMENT CELL

CAREER GUIDANCE AND PLACEMENT CELL - 2012-2013

Dr. M. Mohamed Sathik, Principal and Mr. A. Syed Mohamed, Placement cell coordinator, attended a one-day seminar entitled “ICTACT BRIDGE 2012 Ideate, Innovate, Incubate and Implement” at Coimbatore on 27th June 2012. This seminar was organized by the ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu.

In order to enhance self employability, the Career and Placement Cell organized a training programme for girl students in glass painting and pot painting on 14th September 2012. Mrs. Chellammal, Tutor, Pidilite Industries Ltd., Chennai, was the resource person of the training programme. To motivate self employability of students an “Entrepreneur and Incubation cell” was formed in August 2012. Dr. M. I. Zahir Hussian is the Coordinator for this cell. Twenty students of the first year are selected for free computer training programme conducted by Jeyam Academy, Tirunelveli. Solartis Technology Private Ltd. Conducted an off-Campus recruitment drive for the first time in our College for 2012 passed out on 28th September 2012. 220 Students from various Arts and Science Colleges from Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari and Tuticorin Districts participated. Mr. Jeyachandran, ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Ragava Srinivasan, AGM, ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu, and Mr. Jean Walter, HR, Solartis Technology Private Ltd., conducted the campus recruitment drive programme. Three rounds of testing, namely, Aptitude Test, Software Skill Test and Personal Interview were conducted. 9 students were selected and Yakoob who studied B.Com. (C.A.) at our College was one among them. A Guest Lecture was organized for all the 3rd yearstudents on 04-10-2012. Mr. B. Senthil Kumar of Colors Animation Technology, Palayamkottai poke on “Job Opportunities in Animation Industries”. Er. Ahmed Towfeeq, IT Consultant, WHO, Geneva, witzerland lectured on “The relevance of the IT and CS curricula to world Quality enhancement” on 18-10- 2012. The students of Computer Science and IT are the beneficiaries.
