The PG Department of English (unaided), Sadakathullah Appa College organized the Inauguration of the English Literary Association and Commemoration of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan on 05.09.2023 at 4.30 p.m in the auditorium.
The occasion began with the invocation of the Almighty. Mr. K. Thalha, Asst. Prof. of English, recited the Qirath. Dr. Anita Gnanamuttu, the Head of the PG English Department welcomed the gathering. Dr. S.M.Abdul Kader, Principal of our College presided over the function. The Vice- Principal Dr. S. M.A.Syed Mohamed Khaja and Dr. S. Mohamed Haneef, the Head of the UG English Department felicitated the gathering. The Literary Association activities for the year 2023-2024 were presented by the Coordinator of the Literary association, Mrs.M.BenazirNuzrath. The office bearers of the Association took charge.
Ms. D. Sowndarya, the Secretary, Ms. S. Anisha, the President and S. Hari Rashnika the Treasurer of the Literary Association Hari Rashnika were honoured by the Chief Guest Dr. Princee. I. KasheeraBanu of II MA English was honoured by our Principal for cracking the National Eligibility Test and M. Bushra was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 500 by Mr. K. Thalha for scoring 90% with Elite + Gold in 8 weeks NPTEL course on Enhancing Soft Skill and Development.
As it was Teacher's Day, the staff members were honoured by the students by giving them gifts. And the students delivered Commemoration speech. Hooral Firthouse briefed the biography of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan and M. Bushra spoke about the ‘Role of Teachers’. Dr. A. Alis Sofia introduced the Chief Guest Dr. Princee. The Chief Guest delivered a special lecture on the topic "Literature: The Beacon of Life". The vote of thanks was proposed by the Secretary of the Literary Association.
