A student counselor's duties include fostering the emotional and professional development of students, creating and inspecting counselling support programmes.The counsellor provided open, non-judgmental listening to students' academic, emotional, social, and behavioural concerns and directly collaborating with students to create solutions and establish realistic objectives.

Assisting with conflict mediation and resolution between students, students and teachers, or parents and teachers to ensure students' goals are not disrupted.

Developing, monitoring, and assisting with counseling programs.

Offering referrals to outside resources, such as for mental health, substance abuse, or vocational-related activities.
