Bio-energy is one of the diverse resources available to help us meet our demand for energy. It is a form of renewable energy. Microbes offer efficient and sustainable ways to convert plants or other biomass into liquid biomass into liquid fuels, hydrogen, methane and electricity. Specific education and training in microbial energy conversion technologies are needed to provide the foundation for insights that will allow major increases in biofuel generation requiring ignited minds to meet challenges on this multidisciplinary approach. In this regard, a One Day National Conference on ‘Sustainable Microbial Bio-energy – Present & Future Perspectives’ is being organized by the PG and Research Department of Microbiology on 20^th March 2023.

       Dr. Salom Gnana Thanga Vincent, Professor and Head, Department of Environmental Science, University of Kerala, is delivering a special lecture on ‘Sustainable Microbial Bio-energy – Present & Future Perspectives’.
