National Institutional Ranking Framework was launched in 2015 by the MHRD to rank Higer Education Institutions nationally every year based on such parameters as

Sadakathullah Appa College, run by the Sadakathullah Appa Educational Society, was founded in 1971. Now the College has become a go-ahead institution with 8 UG and 2 PG courses in the aided category and 16 UG , 7 PG and 6 M.Phil. courses and 9 Ph.D. programmes in the unaided category. Almost all the departments have PG courses.
Apart from this, it has 20 Career Oriented Prograame (COP). Currently 3804 students are studying in the College, of which girls make up more than 60% of the students’ strength and around 500 students reside in the hostels.
The remarkable recent upgradations are: ISO Certification, Autonomous status and Reaccreditation by NAAC for the 3rd time at an ‘A’ grade with a CGPA of 3.40. Also in the survey undertaken by Career 360,a National Journal meant for career guidance, this College secured the 30th place among 80 Colleges in Tamil Nadu.
The College has a need-blind admissions policy and recently the application for admission into courses has been made online. Also all payment of fee is made online. The attendance of the students is uploaded in the website every day. Internal marks are entered online.
The College is conducting elections to the College Students’ Council and Hostel Students’ Council, through electronic voting system. Results are published online. As such, the College website has 3,01,907 hits as on 08.03.2022. Announcements from the administrative heads are made through public address system. CCTV cameras are fixed at strategic points of the College and Hostels.
There are 201 Teaching Staff which include 20 Visiting faculty in the both aided and unaided category. A total of 123 teachers are Ph.D. holders and 49 are approved guides. Though it is a minority institution, people belonging to other religious faiths are also recruited in the aided category, which bears testimony to its social equity.
The College encourages its staff members with incentives for publishing articles in reputed international journals and OD for paper-presenters, paper-publishers and resource persons.
In 2016-2017, a total of 129 research papers have been published, 126 papers have been presented and 65 staff members have acted as resource persons. Two have published papers abroad and one has published a book abroad. One has also worked as a Post Doctoral Fellow at two foreign Universities. Also many have published papers with remarkable citations, h-index and i10-index.
During 2019 - 2020 , 44 scopus indexed research papers have been published by our teaching staff
The College has introduced innovative courses like Spoken English for Part-II English students with only oral testing and ‘Computer Assisted Language Learning’, a practical paper meant for major and non-major students. The College has availed financial assistance from the UGC for the construction of Indoor stadium and Tennis Ground.
The College has a fully automated library with facilities such as e-Gate, bar-coded scanning, AutoLib Library Software and OPAC and Inflibnet/N-list. A Library website has been created for the convenience of students.
The Controller’s Office provides facilities like revaluation, re-totalling and supplementary exams. It issues mark statements with 8 level security features.
The infrastructure of this College provides a wonderful opportunity for students to enjoy learning.The recent infrastructural developments are the sports gallery, the indoor stadium, solar lamps, rain water harvest, two ramps for physically challenged students, two inbuilt Xerox centres for boys and girls separately, water-coolers at every wing, R-O water facility, multigym, etc.
The College has 20 ICT-enabled classrooms, an Audio-Visual Hall, a Language Lab and an e-Conference Hall. The Department of Zoology maintains a museum with 670 specimens. The College has a herbal garden with 78 plants.
Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are included as a part of the curriculum for the UG students and credits are awarded for them. The NSS functions separately through its 6 units in the adopted villages. The NSS periodically conducts free medical camps, rallies, awareness programmes, blood-grouping camps, plantation drives, etc.
The NCC unit has the authorized strength of 104 cadets. Many cadets attend RDC parades and Army Attachment Camps and other social activities throughout the year.
The Youth Welfare Department of the College has been very vibrant and enthusiastic. It motivates and trains students to take part in various competitions organized by the other Colleges and university.
Every year it publishes a collection of poems contributed solely by the students – ‘Aaram Viral’ ‘Manathuli’ and ‘Kavippura’. Sadakath Outreach Programme (SOP), an extension service is a compulsory programme for all the 2ndyear UG students.
The College has adopted six villages for this purpose and has appointed a staff with MSW degree. Each department has one staff-in-charge for this programme.
The College has a Dean of Sports to motivate and lead the sports team. Dynamic athletes are given free lodging and boarding in the College hostels.Through internal and external audits, ISO helps maintaining quality in academic and non-academic matters.
The College Council Whatsapp helps sharing communication among high-level administrative heads. The feedback system operated by the IQAC is another effective self-regulating mechanism.
The multidisciplinary journal ‘Sadakath’ has been approved by the UGC. To impart moral values, the College conducts ‘Deeniyath’ classes (Value Education I) for Muslim students and Moral Science classes (Value Education II) for non-Muslim students. The College has appointed a psychologist and a doctor for maintaining the physical and mental health of the students. Driving classes are also provided to them.
As the destiny of a nation is shaped inside its classrooms, the College takes every measure to produce students who are intellectually mature, morally upright, socially committed and spiritually inspired.
