About the Department

THE PG DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE is a unique hub of Sadakathullah Appa College established in 2006 to instill outstanding technical skills to the students on par with global education. It persistently seeks and fosters many innovative technologies to enhance the quality of higher education on a consistent basis. The Department offers M.Sc Computer Science (Unaided) from 2006 onwards. M.Phil Computer Science (Unaided) has been offered since 2015 and Ph.D Computer Science (Unaided) has been offered since 2013.

Our Department has well experienced and Ph.D/NET/SET qualified faculty members to nurture the students. Our faculty members are capable of providing secure and Out of the Box thinking to the students. The global standards set by our department in the field of teaching and research spurs the students with relentless pursuit of excellence. Individual attention is given to the students to make them excel in both curricular and extra-curricular activities. Some of the major research areas which the faculty members and students working on are Image Processing, Virtual Reality, Cyber Security, Deep Learning, Data Mining and Internet of Things.

Our Memorandum of Understanding with various industries and institutions make ourselves to have a nexus with a plenty of research projects and internships. We have signed MOU’s with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras through SWAYAM NPTEL Local Chapter and Brunel University in London.

The department has well equipped laboratories with fully air conditioned facilities and a rich warehouse of software. We have conducted a series of events such as workshops, conferences and seminars with eminent speakers from various industries and Government sectors.

Campus Placements are conducted by our college to assure opportunities for all the students as much as possible. Moreover, students were given with a glimpse of personality development and stress management programmes and make them to resolve different kinds of neck issues. With the strength of the deserved and dynamic faculties, well supportive management and highly motivated students, the department is fully geared up in its exploration of attaining excellence in parallel with education and ethics.
