TThe Department of Commerce (B), Sadakathullah Appa College, organized the Commerce Association Inauguration on 16 August 2023 in the College Seminar Hall to promote academic interaction and professional awareness among students. The Chief Guest, Dr. P. Mathan Kumar, Assistant Professor of Commerce, Loyola College, delivered an inaugural address on “Innovative Practices in Logistics Industry,” highlighting modern trends in logistics, supply chain management, and career opportunities in the field. The programme motivated students to enhance their skills and actively participate in association activities.
The Department of Commerce (A & B – Unaided), Sadakathullah Appa College, organized a one-day workshop on “Hands-on Training in Share Market Trade” on 27 October 2023 as part of its Golden Jubilee celebration. The session was conducted by Mr. M. Sundar, Managing Partner of Mari Associates, who explained share market concepts, trading procedures, investment strategies, and risk factors through practical demonstrations. The workshop enhanced students’ financial literacy and provided valuable exposure to stock market trading and investment practices.
The Department of Commerce (B), Sadakathullah Appa College, organized a Guest Lecture on 5 February 2024 on the topic “Soft Skills.” The session was delivered by Mr. V. Thillai Chithambaram, Former General Manager (HR), Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, who emphasized the importance of communication, teamwork, leadership, time management, and professional etiquette for career success. The lecture helped students understand employer expectations and motivated them to develop essential soft skills for employability.
