The Department of Psychology, in collaboration with the Deanery of Student Welfare and the Counselling Cell, Sadakathullah Appa College, Tirunelveli, organized an awareness programme titled “Safe Childhood – Strong Future” on 28 September 2026 at the College Auditorium. The programme focused on child protection, prevention of child abuse and child marriage, and awareness about substance use.
The programme included a special address by Dr. Kavipriya Periasamy, Centre Administrator, Department of Social Welfare, Valliyoor, followed by an interactive session with students. Nearly 500 students participated and benefited from the programme. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem.
The programme contributed to promoting health, well-being, child protection and social justice, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 and 16.
