From Lab to Market: Research & Entrepreneurship

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Research and Development Cell of Sadakathullah Appa College (Autonomous), Tirunelveli, jointly organized a Boot Camp on “From Lab to Market: Research & Entrepreneurship” on 08.10.2026 in the Seminar Hall.

The programme commenced with Qirath, followed by Tamil Thai Vazhthu. The Welcome Address was delivered by Mr. K. Abishek, Research Scholar, Department of Zoology.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. S. Mahadevan, Dean, Student Welfare and Development, followed by the Felicitation Addresses by Dr. A. Hamil, Principal In-charge, and Dr. R. Janet Rani, Vice-Principal (Unaided).

The keynote session was delivered by Mr. A. Ramasubramanian, Chief Executive Officer, i Tech Academy, Tirunelveli, on the topic “From Lab to Market: Research & Entrepreneurship.” He highlighted the importance of transforming innovative research ideas into practical applications and marketable products and services. The session emphasized entrepreneurship, innovation, product development, and the commercialization of research outcomes.

A Special Address on Marketing Strategy was delivered by Mr. S. Sukumar, CEO, iTech Academy, Industry-Institute Interactive Consultant and Consultant for Red Hat. He elaborated on the importance of understanding market requirements, identifying customers, branding, promotion, and developing effective marketing strategies for successful entrepreneurial ventures.

The Boot Camp provided valuable insights into the journey of research from the laboratory to the market and encouraged students and research scholars to explore entrepreneurship and translate their innovative ideas into commercially viable solutions. The programme also served as a platform for strengthening the connection between research, innovation, industry, and entrepreneurship.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Miss. K. Siva Kiruthiga, Research Scholar, Department of Chemistry. Miss. M. Guna Sorna Lakshmi, Research Scholar, Department of Mathematics, served as the Master of Ceremony.

The Boot Camp fostered research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, with 120 students and research scholars participating in the programme.
