PLAGIARISM POLICY


Sadakathullah Appa College envisions to cater to the learners through its academic and research programmes. The Institution has the state-of–the art infrastructure to provide quality education through 15 Undergraduate Programmes (UG), 10 Postgraduate Programmes (PG), 6 M.Phil Programmes, 9 Ph.D Programmes and 15 Certificate Courses in the Arts and Science disciplines. One of the goals of our Institution is to produce graduates and Scholars who will be able to render their expertise to society. As a part of this preparation, our faculties and students are encouraged to involve themselves in attending Conferences, Seminars and publish original and quality research papers in reputed journals. In this context, plagiarism assumes greater importance as it is a threat to the objectives of higher education and it harms the reputation of the Higher Education Institutions. It is therefore essential to sensitize the faculty and students on academic misconduct performed either willfully or ignorantly.

Plagiarism is an academic offence and a scientific misconduct. The forms of plagiarism include

  • Copying someone's text without proper citations
  • Improper or inadequate citations
  • Paraphrasing without citations
  • Paraphrasing with different meaning
  • Self –plagiarism
