About the Department

The Department of Economics was established as an Aided Allied Department in the year 1971. Since its inception, the Department has been designing learner – centered, value – based, utility – based and outcome – based curriculum that would help the taught obtain knowledge in the core, allied and in the interdisciplinary areas in the field of Economics and apply the acquired knowledge and skills in diverse fields to boost the economic growth in India and to achieve economic sustainability. The Department is hosting effective and beneficial lectures on recent trends and emerging areas in Economics for the updating knowledge and to enrich applications and productivity as well.
