About the Department

The Department of Library and Information Science

The Department of Library and Information Science is offering one year Bachelor in Library and Information Science (B. Lib. I. Sc) Programme from the academic year 2018-2019. The Programme is being offered for two semesters with 14 courses, a project and internship. A total of 56 students successfully completed this course during these three years. The objective of the department is to prepare a set of qualified serving library professionals to serve the society. A Certificate programme in Library and Information Science (C. Lib. I. Sc) is introduced from the academic year 2020-2021. In future, the department has plans to introduce Master of Library and Information Science, M.Phil. and to become a full-fledged Research Department. The vision and mission of the department is to impart student-centric participative instructions, to promote cutting-edge imaginative research, to incorporate hypothetical information with abilities to produce students with employable attitudes and professional mastery, to instill confidence through quality research, and to stay up to date with the new advancements in education and research.
