PG department of Zoology organized Association Inauguration Programme for the Year 2021-22 on 05.10.2021. Dr.M.I.Delighta Mano Joyce, the Head welcomed the gathering. Dr. M. Mohamed Sathik,, Principal, Sadakathullah Appa College gave the presidential Address. Dr. S.M.A.Syed Mohamed Khaja Vice-Principal SAC felicitated the function Dr.M.I.Zahir Hussain Assistant Professor of Zoology, enlighten the function. Dr.M. Kannan, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, V.H.N. Senthilkumara Nadar College (Autonomous), Virudhunagar gave inaugural talk on “Digital positive foot prints for online teaching and learning” The session was very interactive and students were actively participated. PG Department of Zoology, Sadakathullah Appa College, Tirunelveli organised an industrial visit to "Tharuvaikulam Ecotourisum - Tuticorin" on 30.08.2022. Dr. M.I. Delighta Mano Joyce, Assistant Professor and Head, Dr. J. Shifa Vanmathi, Assistant Professor, Dr. A. Mohaideen, Assistant Professor, Dr. A. Muthuraman, Assistant Professor and Mr. M. Sindha Mather, Lab Assistant along with 24 students of I M.SC.Zoology & II M.SC.Zoology has visited the Tharuvaikulam Ecotourisum. We have visited the Hawar island and also observe the coral reef through the glass boat. The Industrial Visit was very informative and useful for the students.

The department of Zoology in association with Government Museum, Tirunelveli organized Ozone Layer Protection Rally and Special Talk on “World Ozone Day” -16.09.2022. Rally was started from St.Xavier’s College and end at Government Museum, Tirunelveli. Dr.S.M.A.Syed Mohammed Khaja, Vice-Principal, Sadakathullah Appa College and Mrs.S.Sathyavallli, District Curator, Govt.Museum, flagged off the Rally. 125 Students (both UG and PG) and 12 Faculties from Department of Zoology were participated in the Rally. The students brought number of Plug cards with quotes and slogan related to Ozone Layer Protection. After that a Special Talk was arranged at Government Museum. Mrs.S.Sathiyavalli welcomed the gathering. Dr.M.I.Zahir Hussain Assistant Professor of Zoology, introduced the chief guest. Dr.G.S.Vijayalakshmi, Professor of Environmental Sciences (Rtd), M.S.University, Tirunelveli.Senator & District President, Exnora Int., District Co-ordinator, National Green Corps, Tenkasi was the chief guest. She gave special talk on “Ozone Layer Depletion and its Impact on Environment”. She gave cash prices to the students who answered her questions. Our Students, Noorul Nabeela, Subair Gnaniyar, Anushiya, Saranya also gave talk on Ozone Layer Protection. Dr.M.Sithi Jameela, COE & the Head, Department of Zoology gave vote of thanks.
Department of Zoology organized an Online-quiz Programme on World Ozone Day-2022. A Google form with 20 multiple choice questions shared to many participants from various Institutions. Totally 372 Responses were received for the same. e-certificate were provided those who secured 60% of Marks.
Ms.C.Vidhya Nanthini, from PG Second year Zoology, participated and won three gold medals in Solo fight and Single Stick fight I and II in Club Silambam Championship -2022 organized by Tamilnadu Silambam Committee –Tirunelveli. The Management, The Principal, Vice Principal and the Department Staff Members congratulated the student for her achievement.
National Siddha Day Celebration was held on 09.01.2023 Ms.K.A.Sumaiya I M.Sc., Zoology welcomed the gathering. Dr. S.M. Abdul Kader Principal SAC Preside over the function Dr. S.M.A.Syed Mohamed Khaja Vice-Principal SAC felicitated the function Dr. G.Subash Chandran, M.D.,Ph.D., Associate Professor, Government Siddha Medical College, Palayamkottai. He gave a special address to Siddha medicine. Totally 60 students and 10 faculty members from the Department were participated and benefited by the programme. Mr.R.Vignesh III B.Sc. Zoology proposed the vote of the thanks. Ms.M.Saranya II M.Sc., Zoology hosted the programme.

Sithi Jameela, Associate Professor, Head and Controllar of examination, Department of Zoology. welcomed the Gathering, Principal Dr. S. M. Abdul Kader, Vice Principal, Dr. S. M. A. Syed Mohamed Khaja, and Mrs. S. Sivasathyavalli Felicitated the event. Chief Guest Dr. M. Abirami, B.S.M.S, Medical officer, Nellai Cancer Care Centre, Palayamkottai highlighted the Awareness on General Cancer, Oral, Breast and Cervical Cancer. Faculty members and 120 students from UG, PG and Research scholars of Department of Zoology were benefitted by this programme. Dr. S. A Quiz Programme on General Life Science organized on commemoration of National Science Day on 28.02.2023. Third Year Zoology students participated in the quiz. The Post graduate students of Zoology were the quiz masters. Totally 6 rounds were conducted on general to specific science topics especially in life sciences. Totally 30 students participated as 7 teams. Among the seven teams, two teams of boys have secured the first and second place of the quiz programme. The winners were awarded with prizes. Dr.M.Sithi Jameela, Head of the Department and Controller of Examinations gave the prizes. Participation certificates also provided. All the students of undergraduate zoology programme were benefited by this programme.

Sithi Jameela Controller of Examinations & Head, Department of Zoology and the Research Head Dr. M.I. Zahir Hussain Felicitated the event. Chief Guest Dr. T. Ravi Murugan, Professor and Head, Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli delivered the chief guest Address and highlighted the importance of indigenous breeds and its vulnerable status of extinction. Faculty members and 120 students from UG, PG and Research scholars of Department of Zoology were benefitted by this programme. Dr. J. Shifa Vanmathi, Assistant Professor Proposed the Vote of thanks. The Valedictory Function of PG Department of Zoology Association was held on 28.04.2023 Miss. K.S.Uma Bharathi, II M.Sc Zoology welcomed the gathering. Dr. M. Sithi Jameela, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Zoology and Controller of Examinations, SAC felicitated the function. Dr. M. Narayanan, Former Controller of Examinations, SAC, Former Vice – Principal, St. Xavier’s College, Tirunelveli was the chief guest. He delivered a speech on the title “WHY I AM A ZOOLOGIST?” He motivated the students with contemporary areas of zoology and the highlighted the reason why all the zoologists are holding higher positions in various academic and non-academic bodies. Totally 60 students and 10 faculty members from the Department were participated and benefited by the programme. Miss. M.Saranya, II M.Sc Zoology proposed the vote of the thanks. Miss. K.A.
