Activities - (2017-2018)

The Department of Computer Science (Aided) commenced its academic year 2017 with its Association Inauguration on August 10. Prof. K. Sheik Thamby, Department of Economics, Sadakathullah Appa College, Tirunelveli, was the chief guest. A State Level Workshop on Video and Image Processing using MATLAB (VIP 2018) was organized on February 07, 2018. Dr. K. Jayapriya, Director, Vin Solutions, Tirunelveli, was the Resource Person. Nearly 130 students took part in the workshop.

The Department of Computer Science (Unaided) had its Association Inauguration on July 10, 2017 with Dr. B. Beneson, Associate Professor of English, St. John’s College, Palayamkottai, as the chief guest. He spoke on the topic Chisel Yourself. In line with this, two more guest lectures were organized with the first on August 10, 2017. Prof. J. Rexy, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, St. Xavier’s College, Palayamkottai, delivered the special address on Big Data – A Technical View.

The academic feast continued further with a two day workshop on “Android Apps Development” in collaboration with IIT Radiance, Mumbai on October 13 and 14, 2017. Mr. Sabarinathan, Senior Research Engineer, Harbour Technologies, Mumbai; and Mr. Jeyakumar, Research Engineer, Harbour Technologies, Mumbai, were the Resource Persons.



On January 10, 2018. Mr. S. M. Ansari, Senior Software Engineer, Sequence Asia IT Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, delivered a lecture on The Key to Success Lock. The Integrated Department of Computer Science organized a State Level Technical Symposium SACTECHFEST’18 on February 19, 2018. Followed by the Symposium, the Department conducted a one day workshop on Website Design on March 05, 2018. Mr. J. Mohamed Rajak Mainudeen, Career Analyst, Skilled Youth Professionals Association, Chennai, was the chief guest. A Workshop on “ECCI, Java Interview Techniques” took place on March 05, 18. Mr. S. Ramasubramaniyam, Technical & Delivery Head, was the Resource Person.
