An inter-collegiate Islamic Quiz Programme was held on 07.03.2017. The programme started with the recitation from the Quran. Mr. M. J. Ubaiyathulla, Head of the Department of Arabic welcomed to the participants and Alhaj. T.E.S. Fathu Rabbani, Secretary and Correpondent, Sadakathullah Appa College, delivered the presidential address, Dr. M. Mohamed Sathik, Principal, Sadakathullah Appa College felicitated , and Dr. A. JAHIR HUSSAIN, Asst. Prof. of Arabic & Chairman, Dept. of Arabic, Persian and Urdu, University of Madras, Chennai – 05 was Quiz master.
Alhaj. T.E.S. Fathu Rabbani, Secretary and Correpondent, Sadakathullah Appa College distributed Shields and the certificates for achieved students. Finally Mr. Mohamed Rafeek Asst. Prof. of Arabic proposed the vote of thanks.
A one Day National seminar on “The Developments of Islamic Jurisprudence over the Ages” was held on 21/12/2017. The programme started with the recitation from the Quran. Mr.J.Ubaiyathulla, Head of the Department of Arabic welcomed to the participants and the presidential address was given by Dr. M. Mohamed Sathik, Principal, SadakathullahAppa College, the inaugural address was given by Prof. A. Abdul Hayu, Former Head, Dept. of Arabic, SadakathullahAppa College, Tirunelveli. Mr. Nowshad, Asst. Prof, Dept. of Arabic, University of Kerala delivered the keynote address.

Session – II was chaired by Moulavi. M.Y. Humayoon Kabeer Usmani, Principle, Lecturer, Riyazhul Jinan Arabic College, Pettai, Tirunelveli.Five Participants from the various colleges presented their papers on different sub topics of the seminar.
Nearly 45 students from various college who are studying Arabic as Part-I, especially the students from Department of Islamic Studies participated in the seminar with interested and motivated.
In the valedictory function the director of self-financing courses, Dr.A. Abdul Kathar gave the felicitation address and finally distributed the certificates. Mr.MohamedRafeek Asst. Prof. of Arabic proposedthe vote of thanks.
This is the sixth national seminar conducted by the Dept of Arabic. The participants gave their feedbacks that the theme of the seminar really enlightened our knowledge and motivated to do the research about the multi-personality of the Prophet in the light of Holy Quran and Hadeeth.
The Department of Arabic organized a guest lecture - I on “MORAL CONSCIOUSNESS IN ARABIC LITERATURE” on 29/08/2017. ALHAFIL, MOULAVI. M.S. SHAWKATH ALI USMANI, Khateeb Cultural Mosque, Nagercoilwas the speaker. Nearly one hundred students participated in the programme.
The Department of Arabic organized a guest lecture - II on “Migration And Its Lessons In The History Of Arabic Literature” on 25/09/2017. MOULAVI. M.Y. HUMAYOON KABEER, Principal, Riyalul Jinan Arabic College, Pettai, Tirunelveli was the speaker. Nearly one hundred students participated in the programme.
