ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION PROGRAMME ON “MOTIVATING ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT AMONG ECONOMICS STUDENTS” ”

The Department of Economics conducted its Association Inauguration Programme on August 13, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. in the Seminar Hall of the College. The programme commenced with Qirath, recited by Regan, II B.A. Economics.

Dr. N. Esakki, Associate Professor of Economics, Ambai Arts College, Ambasamudram, delivered the keynote address on the topic “Motivating Entrepreneurial Spirit Among Economics Students.” In his address, he emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in the present economic scenario and encouraged students to explore innovative business ideas, self-employment opportunities, and start-up initiatives related to the field of Economics. His talk inspired students to develop entrepreneurial thinking and practical skills.

The programme included a welcome address by Dr. M. Esakkiammal, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department, followed by the presidential address delivered by Dr. R. Janet Rani, Vice Principal. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Durga Kayathri, III B.A. Economics.

The programme was highly beneficial for the Economics students, enhancing their awareness of entrepreneurial opportunities. The faculty members of the Department played a pivotal role in planning and organizing the event, and their guidance and support contributed significantly to the success of the inauguration programme.

CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAMME ON “SHAPING YOUR FUTURE”

The Department of Economics, in collaboration with the Training and Placement Cell, organized a Career Guidance Programme on October 7, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the Seminar Hall of the College. The programme commenced with Qirath.

Dr. P. Jaya Prapakaran, Associate Professor of Economics, The MDT Hindu College, Pettai, Tirunelveli, delivered the keynote address on the topic “Shaping Your Future.” In his address, he motivated students to identify their career goals, develop essential skills, and make informed decisions regarding higher education, competitive examinations, and employment opportunities. His talk encouraged students to plan their future with confidence and clarity.

The programme included a welcome address by Dr. M. Petchiammal, Assistant Professor, followed by the presidential address delivered by Dr. R. Janet Rani, Vice Principal. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mufsira Banu, I B.A. Economics.

The session was highly informative and beneficial to the Economics students, helping them gain clarity and direction for their future careers.
