Activities - (2019-2020)

The Department of Information Technology inaugurated its Association by Mr. Vijay Krishnan M. Tech Sub-Divisional Engineer, BSNL, Tirunelveli, who spoke on “Effective Uses of Internet” on August 29, 2019. The department continued its departmental activities by conducting a guest lecture titled, “Java in Image Processing” by Mr. Mr. S. Ramesh Kumar M.E., Research Scholar, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, on 11.02.2019 and another guest lecture titled “Data Mining in Health Care” by Dr. V. Subha, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, on 25th. The Department organized an Institutional Workshop on February 24 and 25, 2020 titled, “Ethical Hacking”. Mr. Ramakrishnan Nataraj, Sr. Research Engineer, Harbour Technologies, was the resource person and nearly 62 participants took part in the workshop. The Department’s Association had its Valediction on March 11, 2020 where Dr. D. Abiya Chellaih, M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., SLET, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, St. John’s College, Palayamkottai, delivered a lecture on “Programming Your Mind for Success”.

Association Inauguration The Association of the Department of IT saw its inauguration on 29th August 2019 on Thursday at 4.30 p.m. in the college Seminar Hall. Mr. S. Vijay Krishnan M.Tech, Sub- Divisional Engineer, BSNL Vannarpettai, was the Resource Person. He delivered the key note address on “EFFECTIVELY USE INTERNET”. One Hundred and twenty students from first, second and third year of Information Technology department participated in the program

Guest LectureThe Guest Lecture was conducted by the Department of IT on 24th September 2019, at 1.30 p.m. in the college Seminar Hall. Mr. S. Ramesh Kumar, Research Scholar, ManonamaniamSundaranar University, Tirunelveli, was the Resource Person. He delivered the lecture on “JAVA IN IMAGE PROCESSING”. One Hundred and twenty students from first, second and third year of Information Technology department participated in the program.

Guest LectureA Guest Lecture was conducted by the Department of IT on 25th February 2020 at 2.00 p.m. in the college Seminar Hall. Dr. V. Subha, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Manonamaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, was the Resource Person. He delivered the lecture on “DATA MINING IN HEALTHCARE”. One Hundred students from first, second and third year of Information Technology department participated in the program.

WorkshopA Two-Day National Level Workshop on “CYBER SECURITY ETHICAL HACKING” was held on 24thand 25th February 2020 conducted in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology, Placement Cell, IIT Hyderabad, in the Computer Laboratory. Around 100 students participated in the program. The students gained their knowledge in Hacking industry.

INTERNATIONAL WEBINAR An International Webinar was conducted by the Department of IT on 30th May 2020 at 8.30 a.m. through Online. Mr. NishanthSelvaraj, Lead Software Engineer, USA was the Resource Person. He delivered the lecture on “Application Development in Cloud”. Around 20 college students and faculty participated in the program.
