About Department

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics was established in the year 2014, offers a unique three years Undergraduate programme with a vision to provide high quality education to the students with hands on experience in Diet therapy and Diet counselling, Food Management, Eating habits and Lifestyle management among others. A degree in Nutrition and Dietetics is the first step towards a wide variety of career options in Clinical and food industries, in hospital services, and in many biological and medical research divisions. The Department also extends Postgraduate programme in Nutrition and Dietetics from the year 2020. The programme aims to improve the employability and interdisciplinary skills among the students and to meet out the increasing demand for Dietitians & Nutritionists in the area of health care and related industries. The academic coursework of M.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics includes Dietetic Internship Program(DIP) and On-job training which is considered to be an important service opportunity in health care and food processing fields preferred for many other employment prospects in Nutrition and Dietetics.

MISSION

To develop medical nutrition therapists with state of art know-how on Nutrition care process.
