SAC TECH HUB – ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION ON “NEXT-GEN INTELLIGENCE”

The Department of Computer Science (PG) and the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (UG) of Sadakathullah Appa College jointly organized the SAC TECH HUB Association Inauguration on the theme “Next-Gen Intelligence” on 11th August 2025 at 11.00 a.m. in the Seminar Hall.

The program began with a Qirath recitation by Mr. Mohamed Anas K (II M.Sc. Computer Science). Dr. V. Roseline, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Computer Science (PG), delivered the welcome address and introduced the SAC TECH HUB office bearers: Ms. S. Muthubala (II M.Sc. CS) as Chairperson, Ms. M. Mahalakshmi (I M.Sc. CS) as Secretary, and Mr. M. Mohammed Rafeek (I B.Sc. AI & DS) as Joint Secretary.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. S.M. Abdul Kader, Principal, who emphasized the significance of next-generation technologies and encouraged innovation among students. Dr. R. Janet Rani, Vice Principal, followed with a felicitation address, highlighting the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in future careers. The Chief Guest, Mr. M. Saravanan, Assistant Professor (Sr.G) & Head, Department of Computer Science, K.R. College of Arts & Science, Kovilpatti, was introduced by Ms. Usha Rani (I M.Sc. Computer Science).

In his special address, Mr. M. Saravanan spoke on next-generation intelligence, covering AI, ML, DL, and Reinforcement Learning. He explained neural networks and their types, the ML/DL development lifecycle, key AI applications, and tools such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and OpenAI APIs, motivating students to pursue innovation and research in AI.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. K. Ganesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science (PG). Ms. S. Muthubala served as the Master of Ceremony. The inauguration marked a strong beginning for SAC TECH HUB activities, fostering enthusiasm for modern computing and intelligent systems.



POWER SEMINAR ON GROOMING FOR INTERVIEW

Sadakathullah Appa College, in collaboration with ICT Academy, organized a Power Seminar on “Grooming for Interview” on 23rd September 2025. The program was jointly organized by the PG and Research Department of Computer Science. The resource person, Ms. Blandina Miracle from ICT Academy, shared her expertise on career readiness and interview skills.

The program began with a welcome address by Dr. D. Louisa Mary, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, who emphasized the importance of such initiatives in preparing students for professional careers. The seminar saw active participation from UG and PG students of Computer Science, Psychology, and Commerce, creating an engaging and diverse learning environment.

In her interactive session, Ms. Blandina Miracle highlighted the importance of self-presentation, communication skills, and body language in interviews. She stressed the concept of the “first seven seconds,” during which candidates create a lasting impression through appearance and attitude. Practical guidance on professional dress code, fit, and comfort was shared for both male and female candidates, underscoring the role of attire in building confidence and credibility.

The seminar was highly beneficial, boosting students’ confidence and providing structured approaches for career preparation. The college expressed its gratitude to ICT Academy and Ms. Blandina Miracle for the successful session. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. K. Ganesh Kumar, Assistant Professor of Computer Science.



COMMEMORATION OF DENNIS RITCHIE DAY

The Departments of Computer Science (PG) and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (UG) at Sadakathullah Appa College commemorated Dennis Ritchie Day on September 9, 2025, to honor the lasting contributions of Dennis Ritchie, the creator of the C programming language and co-creator of the UNIX operating system. The commemorative day was organized to raise awareness about the history of programming, enhance students’ technical skills, and promote learning through fun, interactive activities.

The celebration included Tech Quiz, Dumb Charades, Word Hunting — a puzzle-based game to identify technical terms — Balloon Busters, and TriQuest. Each event was designed to be both educational and entertaining, helping students strengthen their technical knowledge as well as their soft skills.

A total of 85 students participated in the competitions with great enthusiasm and interest. Their active involvement showcased their teamwork, analytical thinking, and programming abilities. Students from I M.Sc. Computer Science and II M.Sc. Computer Science volunteered to organize and coordinate the event, displaying excellent planning and leadership. Faculty members from both departments also played a key role in organizing the commemorative day by offering guidance, support, and coordination to ensure the smooth execution of all activities.




CAREER LAUNCHPAD: EXPERT GUIDANCE FROM AROGANAM TECHNOLOGIES

The Department of Computer Science (PG) of Sadakathullah Appa College organized a Career Guidance Program titled "Career Launchpad: Expert Guidance from Aroganam Technologies" on September 1, 2025. The session was specially arranged for the I and II M.Sc. Computer Science students. The keynote speaker was Mr. Ramesh Subburaj, CEO of Aroganam Technologies Pvt Ltd, who brings over 23 years of experience in the IT industry. He shared deep insights on industry expectations, technological trends, and career-building strategies for aspiring tech professionals.

Mr. Ramesh highlighted hands-on training opportunities in key areas such as AI (React + Vite, Python, FastAPI, MongoDB), Full Stack Web Development (React, Node.js, MongoDB), App Development (React Native / Flutter, Node.js, MongoDB), and Digital Marketing with AI using tools like Photoshop, Canva, Blender, Unreal Engine, SEO, branding, and lead generation.

The session was highly engaging and informative, opening doors for potential collaboration and stronger industry-academic integration to enhance student employability.



MoU Signing and Hands-on Workshop on “Marker-Based AR and Game Development with Unity”

Sadakathullah Appa College organized a Hands-on Workshop along with the signing of an MoU with Netcom Computers Pvt. Ltd. on 22 January 2026. The MoU aims to improve students’ technical skills, industry exposure, and employability through training in emerging technologies such as AR, VR, and Game Development. The collaboration will offer workshops, certification programmes, internships, and expert sessions aligned with industry requirements.

The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Dr. S. M. Abdul Kader, Principal; Dr. R. Janet Rani, Vice Principal (Unaided Courses); Dr. V. Roseline, Head, PG Department of Computer Science; and Dr. Mohamed Riyazudeen, Head (In-charge), Department of Computer Science (Aided). The industry partner was represented by Mr. T. Rajesh Kannan, Centre Head, and Mr. Jerin Sabu, AR/VR Developer and Corporate Trainer marking a significant step toward industry–academia partnership.

As part of the collaboration, a hands-on workshop on “Marker-Based AR and Game Development with Unity” was conducted, providing students with practical exposure to AR/VR and game development tools. Certificates were distributed to all participants at the end of the session. The programme was successfully coordinated by the faculty members of the PG Department of Computer Science, ensuring smooth execution of the event.



Guest Lecture on AI Tools for Innovators – Turning Ideas into Impact

The PG Department of Computer Science, Sadakathullah Appa College, organized a guest lecture on “AI Tools for Innovators: Turning Ideas into Impact” on 23 January 2026. The session was delivered by Mr. Ramkumar Thangavel, Senior Principal Engineer at Skylena Info Technology Pvt. Ltd., who highlighted emerging AI tools, industry use cases, and ethical AI practices. He also informed students about training, internship, and placement opportunities in the AI domain. The interactive session motivated M.Sc. Computer Science students to explore innovation and career paths in Artificial Intelligence.



Launch of Website and State-Level Technical Symposium EXCELSIOR’2026

The PG Department of Computer Science and the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (UG), Sadakathullah Appa College, launched the EXCELSIOR’2026 website and successfully organized the State-Level Technical Symposium EXCELSIOR’2026. The website, developed by PG students, enabled online registration and access to event guidelines and was inaugurated by the Principal and senior administrators. The symposium was held on 11 February 2026 in the College Seminar Hall, featuring a presidential and inaugural address that stressed innovation, industry relevance, and continuous learning. Distinguished alumna Mrs. K. Fathima Saliga Begum, Senior QA Engineer at Way.com, Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram, delivered the inaugural address. Various technical and creative competitions such as Quiz, Debugging, E-Waste, Logo Design, Paper Presentation, Web Design, and Software Marketing were conducted as part of the event.

St. Xavier's College secured the Overall First Prize, while Rosemary Arts and Science College for Women won the Overall Second Prize. The Valedictory Address was delivered by the Principal, Dr. S. M. Abdul Kader, followed by the distribution of certificates to participants and prize winners. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
