ASSOCIATION INAUGURAL - Inaugural of SAC TECH HUB and MoU Signing with Livewire Corporate, Chennai

The Department of Computer Science at Sadakathullah Appa College held the inaugural event for the SAC TECH HUB on July 18th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the Seminar Hall. This significant occasion marked the launch of the SAC TECH HUB Association and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Livewire Corporate, Chennai, through its Tirunelveli business partner.

The event began with a Qirath by Mr. M.A. Mohamed Abdul Kader, a II B.Sc. Computer Science student, setting a spiritual tone for the proceedings. Following this, Mr. S.M.A. Khaleelur Rahman, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science, delivered a warm welcome address.

Dr. S.M. Abdul Kader, Principal, then addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of staying updated with the latest technological advancements and the critical role that the SAC TECH HUB will play in achieving this goal. Dr. S. M. A. Syed Mohamed Khaja, Vice Principal, followed with a heartfelt felicitation address.

The chief guest, Mr. K. Anupriyan, Tech Lead at Livewire Corporate, Chennai, was introduced by Dr. V. Roseline, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of PG Computer Science. She highlighted the benefits of the collaboration with Livewire, which promises to enhance the educational and professional landscape for the students.

In his special address, Mr. K. Anupriyan spoke on "The Future of Technology: Adapting to a Job Market." He provided valuable insights into the evolving job market, discussing opportunities in Java, full stack development, AI, machine learning, data science, and mobile application development. His lecture was both informative and inspiring, encouraging students to adapt and innovate to meet future challenges.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. D. Louisa Mary, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science. The proceedings were efficiently managed by Ms. S. Ahmed Aashiqa, a II M.Sc. Computer Science student, who served as the Master of Ceremony, ensuring the event's success.

This inaugural event marks a significant milestone for the Department of Computer Science, setting a strong foundation for future collaborations and advancements in technology education.


Guest Lecture on The Path to Data Science: A Roadmap for Data Analysts “Master One Tool, Empower Your Data Science Journey”

The Department of Computer Science at Sadakathullah Appa College organized an engaging guest lecture titled “The Path to Data Science: A Roadmap for Data Analysts” on July 31, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the Seminar Hall. The program began with a Qirath recitation by Mr. K. Abdul Malik (III B.Sc. Computer Science), setting a reflective tone.

Mr. S.M.A. Khaleelur Rahman, Associate Professor and Head of the Department, delivered the welcome address, followed by the presidential address by Dr. S.M. Abdul Kader, Principal, who emphasized the importance of mastering key data science tools for career growth. Dr. S.M. A. Syed Mohamed Khaja, Vice Principal, presented the felicitous address, reaffirming the department’s commitment to student development and industry readiness. Ms. S. Saranya (III B.Sc. Computer Science) introduced the chief guest, Mr. Basheer Mohideen, Senior Consultant (UAE) and Founder of Discover Datum Data Enthusiast.

In his special address, Mr. Basheer Mohideen shared valuable insights into data science and outlined a clear roadmap for aspiring data analysts. Highlighting the theme “Master One Tool, Empower Your Data Science Journey,” he motivated students with practical guidance on building skills and navigating the job market.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. V. Roseline, Assistant Professor and Head, PG Computer Science. The program was successfully coordinated by the department faculty, with Mr. J. Mohamed Basith (III B.Sc. Computer Science) serving as the Master of Ceremony.


Guest Lecture on Empowering Futures: A Motivational talk on career and Technology

On September 5, 2024, the PG Department of Computer Science organized an inspiring motivational talk titled "Empowering Futures: A Motivational Talk on Career and Technology," delivered by Ms. M. Dharsini, a Partner at Infosmite. The event attracted 47 participants from the I and II MSc Computer Science programs. Ms. Dharsini emphasized the importance of adapting to technological advancements and developing skills that align with future career opportunities. Her insights encouraged students to embrace challenges and think creatively about their professional paths. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, allowing students to gain further clarity on their career aspirations in the ever-evolving tech landscape.


Industrial Visit to Roriri Software Solutions

A group of 13 students from II M.Sc Computer Science, accompanied by one faculty member, participated in a workshop and industrial visit to Roriri Software Solutions on July 9th. The workshop, titled "Emerging Trends in Prompt Engineering," offered comprehensive sessions on Introduction to Prompt Engineering, Advanced Prompt Techniques, and Future Trends in the field. This visit provided the students with hands-on learning experiences and insight into cutting-edge software development practices. The industrial visit allowed students to observe real-world applications of technologies they study, enriching their understanding and enhancing their skills in the growing field of AI and prompt engineering.


International Programmers' Day with Competitions and Knowledge Sharing

The Department of PG Computer Science and the UG Department of Computer Science (Aided) at Sadakathullah Appa College celebrated International Programmers' Day on September 11, 2024, with a range of exciting activities. Faculty members from both departments played a key role in organizing the event, which featured an intra-departmental quiz and a web design competition. Prize winners were honored with certificates and awards. Volunteers from the II M.Sc. Computer Science class coordinated the arrangements. As part of the celebration, students also shared valuable insights on the Computer Evolution and applications of AI tools. A total of 60 participants from the Computer Science (aided and unaided streams), Computer Applications, and Information Technology departments actively participated in the event.


Career Guidance Programme - The Future of Technology: Adapting to a Job Market

VIRTUAL POWER SEMINAR ON "HOW TO START A STARTUP"

The Department of Computer Science and the Center for Digital Learning of Sadakathullah Appa College organized a virtual Power Seminar titled “How to Start a Startup” on 19th December 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The program was hosted in collaboration with ICT Academy and featured Mr. Sridhar Chakravarthi Mulakaluri, Chief Executive Officer of Coach for Change, as the keynote speaker.

The seminar focused on key aspects of starting a business, such as the validation of business ideas, recognizing opportunities, and understanding the growth potential of startups. Using the analogy of trees to explain business scalability, he emphasized that not all businesses grow the same and addressed their adaptability across environments. He introduced the "4 U Test" (Urgent, Underserved, Undoable, Unavoidable) and the "4 Types of Viability" (Technical, Customer, Market, Financial) to validate business ideas. Additionally, he guided participants on recognizing opportunities by analyzing customer segments and building detailed customer personas based on factors like age, education, financial status, and personal interests. The session encouraged participants to reflect on their entrepreneurial ideas and provided a comprehensive roadmap for identifying market needs, ideating products/services, and achieving product-market fit.


THE PORUNAI ILYAJAR ILAKKIYA THIRUVIZHA 2024 - PROMPT ENGINEERING

The Porunai Ilyajar Ilakkiya thiruvizha 2024 was held on December 27, 2024, at Sadakathulla Appa College, Tirunelveli, organized by the Tamil Department and Youth Welfare Department to promote Tamil literature and cultural awareness.

The event featured speeches, poetry, storytelling, and discussions on Tamil literary traditions. In addition to this activities, the PG Department of Computer Science hosted a Prompt Engineering Competition, in which 27 students from various departments participated, showcasing their skills in prompt engineering and creativity. This competition added a unique technological aspect to the festival, highlighting the intersection of modern technology and traditional literature. The event successfully blended these elements, enriching the cultural experience and providing a platform for students to explore innovative ways of engaging with literature and digital content.


STATE LEVEL TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM “EXCELSIOR'2025” JOINTLY ORGANIZED BY DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE(UG& PG) HELD ON 25.02.2025

The Department of Computer Science successfully organized the Technical Symposium EXCELSIOR'2025 on 25th February 2025. The event brought together students, faculty, and industry professionals to engage in discussions on emerging technologies and advancements in computer science. The Presidential Address was given by Dr. S.M. Abdul Kader, Principal, emphasizing the importance of technical excellence in the field of computer science. Dr. S. M. A. Syed Mohamed Khaja, Vice Principal (Unaided Courses), delivered the Felicitation Address. The Inaugural Address featured esteemed industry experts: Mr. M.K. Mohamed Iklas, Data Analyst and Senior Systems Engineer, Infosys, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, and Mrs. Revathi Durai, Oracle Technical Consultant, Bahwan CyberTek, Thoraipakkam. Their insightful speeches provided students with valuable knowledge about industry trends and career opportunities.

Various technical activities were conducted, including Quiz, Paper Presentation, Prompt Engineering, Debugging, and Software Marketing, allowing students to showcase their analytical and problem-solving skills. The Prize Winner was from Sri Sarada College For Women, and the Runner-Up was from Rose Mary College Of Arts & Science(Women), recognizing their outstanding performance in the competitions.

The Valedictory Address was presented by Dr. A. Shakul Hamid, Former Head of the Department of Computer Science, Sadakathullah Appa College, Tirunelveli, who shared his insights on academic excellence and professional growth. Certificates were distributed to participants, acknowledging their contributions and achievements. The program concluded with the National Anthem. EXCELSIOR'2025 was a grand success, fostering technical knowledge and collaboration among students, faculty, and industry professionals. The event served as a platform to bridge academia and industry, inspiring students to excel in their careers.


GUEST LECTURE ON INTRODUCTION TO VLSI DESIGN &OPPORTUNITIES JOINTLY ORGANIZED BY DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE & PHYSICS HELD ON 28.02.2025

The event began with a welcome address by Dr. S. Nasarath Begum, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, followed by the Principal, Dr. S.M. Abdul Kader, who highlighted the growing importance of VLSI in modern technology. The Vice-Principal, Dr. S.M.A. Syed Mohammed Khaja, emphasized VLSI’s relevance in technological advancements.


Key academic figures, including Dr. Mohammed Roshan, Dr. Zeenat Basira, and Dr. Kalilur Rahman, attended, underlining the event's significance. Dr. Roseline introduced the special guest, Er. Mohammed Hassali, Principal Engineer at Intel, Bangalore, who delivered a detailed lecture on VLSI design, career opportunities, and essential technical skills in the field. His lecture inspired students to pursue careers in VLSI.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. A. Perin Fatima, and the smooth conduct was ensured by event coordinators Professors Dr. Asweel Ahmed A. Jalil, Dr. Khairun Mubina, Dr. Kumudini, Dr. Ponsithra, and Dr. Sainta Zoster. The lecture sparked student interest in VLSI and rare earth technology research and career opportunities.


DIGITAL AWARENESS QUIZ – CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR DIGITAL LEARNING (UNESCO)

To celebrate UNESCO’s International Day for Digital Learning, the Department of Computer Science at Sadakathullah Appa College organized an engaging Online Digital Awareness Quiz on March 19, 2025. The quiz aimed to promote awareness and enhance students' understanding of emerging AI and digital technologies.

Held from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the quiz consisted of 20 questions, each with a duration of 180 seconds, offering participants a challenging yet informative experience. The quiz was hosted on the college's dedicated platform, https://sac-cs.online/, allowing students to participate remotely.

The participation rules were clear: each student could attempt the quiz only once, with multiple attempts leading to disqualification. Winners were determined based on the highest score and the fastest completion time, ensuring a fair and competitive environment.

This initiative was aimed at encouraging students of Sadakathullah Appa College to showcase their knowledge of digital technologies and artificial intelligence. The event was a huge success, with enthusiastic participation from students, who demonstrated their grasp of these rapidly advancing fields.

By hosting this quiz, the Department of Computer Science effectively commemorated the International Day for Digital Learning, helping foster a deeper understanding of the role that digital technologies, particularly AI, play in the modern world.


Association Valedictory of SAC TECH HUB

The SAC TECH HUB Association Valedictory Ceremony, organized by the Department of Computer Science, was held on April 9, 2025. The event began with a Qirath by Abdul Malik K (III B.Sc. CS), followed by a Welcome Address by Dr. V. Roseline, Head of the PG Department. Dr. S. M. A. Syed Mohamed Khaja, Vice-Principal (Unaided), delivered the Presidential Address.

The Chief Guest, Dr. S. Shahul Hameed, Head of Business Administration, was introduced by Joseph Antony Ignesh (II B.Sc. CS) and delivered a Special Address on “Making the Most of Your 10,000 Days,” encouraging students to live purposefully and make every day count.

K. Ganesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, presented the Association’s Annual Report. A Prize Distribution ceremony was held in honor of UNESCO's International Day for Digital Learning. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Saranya S (III B.Sc. CS), and Mohamed Basith J served as the Master of Ceremony.
