NCC ANNUAL REPORT 2019-2020

The College NCC unit has been functioning vibrantly with 104 Senior Division and Senior Wing cadets. Lt Dr. K. Syed Ali Bhadhusha, Assistant Professor of English, is the Company Commander. Senior cadet underofficer, A. Muthuselvam of III B.Sc. Physics and Cadet M. Soundar Rajan of II B.Sc. Chemistry attended the Prestigious Republic Day Camp from 29.12.2019 to 31.01.2020 at New Delhi.

These two Cadets were selected to participate in the Republic Day Parade out of 14 Lakh NCC Cadets all over India. From among the 116 Tamilnadu, Pondicherry and Andaman and Nicobar Islands’ NCC Cadets, only 10 Cadets got qualified nationally to participate in the Hon’ble President’s and Prime Minister’s Rally. Proving their meritorious performance, Our Cadet M. Soundar Rajan of II B.Sc. Chemistry took part at the President’s Rally and our Senior cadet underofficer, A. Muthuselvam of III B.Sc. Physics participated at the Prime Minister’s Rally held at Rajpth, New Delhi.

Lt Dr. K. Syed Ali Bhadhusha acted as the Tamilnadu, Pondicherry and Andaman Nicobar Island’s NCC Directorate’s Contingent Commander (SD) and participated in the Ek Bharath Shrestha Bharath - National Integration Camp from 19.11.2019 to 29.11.2019 at Langat Singh College, Muzaffarpur, Bihar. During the camp, he addressed the National Media as part of describing the Nation’s age-old Culture and Tradition which went viral over the social media in Tamilnadu.

The EBSB camp was also attended by Under Officer, M. Syed Magudum of B.Lib Sc., CQMS Selva Ganesh of III B.A. English, Cadet, Padmini Priya of II B.Sc. Physics and Cadet Lingeshwari of II B.A. History. A total of 17 SD and 6 SW cadets appeared for NCC ‘C’ Certificate Examination held at St. Xavier’s College, Palayamkottai on 29.02.2020 and 01.03.2020. Thirteen SD and Seven SW cadets wrote NCC ‘B’ Certificate Examination on 08.02.2020 and 09.02.2020 held at Sarah Tucker College, Palayamkottai.

Cadet, M. Nasur Ahamed of III B.A. English and Cadet, S. Babu Ratnam of III B.Sc. Chemistry participated at the Army Attachment Camp at Secunderabad, Telangana, organized by 202 Engineer Regiment, Secunderabad from 20.01.2020 to 03.02.2020The following are the particulars of camps, awards and other recognitions achieved by the cadets during the academic year 2019-2020.

I am delighted to register on this occasion that our NCC Cadets have been very active in participating and winning prizes at the National, State and University level. There were 15 representations by the NCC Cadets at the university level, 10 representations at the state level and 8 representations at the National level. One of our cadets has won a Best Cadet Cash-Award.
