Association Inauguration

PG and Research Department of Commerce inaugurated its Association Lecture on 09.08.2024 and the guest speaker Mr. MUTHUSAMY, Founder, Business School, delivers the Inaugural Address. The programme commenced with Qirath followed by Tamil Thai Vazhthu. Dr. A. Hamil,Associate Professor and Head, PG and Research Department of Commerce welcomed the gathering. The Principal Dr. S. M. Abdul Kader, presides over the function. The Vice Principal Dr. S.M.A. Syed Mohamed Khaja, felicitates the function. The Chief Guest delivered the inaugural address on “Importance of Entrepreneurship”. The main objective of this Programme is to motivate the students to become entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship among college students is of paramount importance for personal development, career success, and societal advancement. By fostering entrepreneurial skills and providing support for student ventures, colleges play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of innovators, leaders, and changemakers. Encouraging entrepreneurship not only benefits the students but also contributes to economic growth, social impact, and the overall advancement of society.This Programme was very informative and fruitful for our students. Ms. Izzath Fathima of I M.Com proposed Vote of Thanks. Nearly 180 students of PG and Research Department of Commerce participated.

Guest Lecture -I

PG and Research Department of Commerce organises its first Guest Lecture Programme on 15.10.2024. The programme commenced with Qirath followed by Tamil Thai Vazhthu. Ms P.O Abinaya Lakshmi of II M.Com welcomed the gathering. The Principal i/c Dr. S.M.A. Kaleelur Rahman, presides over the function. The Vice Principal Dr. S.M.A. Syed Mohamed Khaja, felicitates the function. The Chief Guest Mr. M. Perinbaraj, JJ Logistic Consultancy and Training, Nazerath, Thoothukudi District delivered the lecture on “JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN LOGISTIC DOMAIN”- AN OUTLOOK. The main objective of this Programme is to explain about the job opportunities within the logistics domain, emphasizing its critical role in global trade and supply chain management. The speaker highlighted how the logistics sector is evolving due to technological advancements, globalization, and changing consumer behaviors. Automation and AI are reshaping logistics operations, while the rise of e-commerce has created additional demand for logistics services and roles, including last-mile delivery. He encouraged the students to consider careers in logistics, emphasizing the sector's resilience and ongoing growth potential. This Programme was very informative and fruitful for our students to know about logistics as a dynamic and promising field, offering numerous career opportunities for individuals willing to adapt and grow within the industry. Ms. C. Masana Petchi of III B.Com proposed Vote of Thanks. Nearly 150 students of PG and Research Department of Commerce participated. This Programme was Successfully Organised by the Faculty Members of PG and Research Department of Commerce.

GUEST LECTURE II: OUTREACH AWARENESS PROGRAMME

The PG and Research Department of Commerce, Sadakathullah Appa College Tirunelveli organised OUTREACH AWARENESS PROGRAMME in Association with Department of Income Tax, Tirunelveli on 30-01-2025. Dr. A. Hamil, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Commerce welcomed. The Vice-Principal Dr. Syed Mohamed Haja presided and delivered presidential address.

Shri. N. Kasi Shankar. I.R.S Deputy Commissioner of Incometax, offered the inaugural address and highlighted the theme in the aspect of Income tax law & practices. Shri. A. Maharajan Gomathinayagam, Income Tax Officer, Tirunelveli delivered lecture on TDS and its procedure. shri. T. Sivabalan. Income Tax Officer, Tirunelveli, delivered the detailed Keynote on need for Income tax, Payments, GST, E-filing, AIS, online scam and so on.

Shri. A. A. Shenbagam Income Tax Officer, Tirunelveli clarify the queries and doubts of the students and participants. Dr. Abusali Sheik , Assistant Professor of Commerce, proposed a vote of thanks at the end of the session.

Dr. Abdul Karim, Administrative Office of Sadakathullah Appa College, Dr. Sheik Mydeen, Dr. Anish Fathima, Assistant Professors and Heads of the Department of Commerce Unaided Session, faculty members, Research Scholars, PG and UG students of B.Com, B.Com, Honours and B.Com Finance were actively participated. National Seminar on Technological Based Business Operations and Innovation and Challenges

National Seminar on Technological Based Business Operations and Innovation and Challenges, held on 4th April 2025, organized by the Department of Commerce, Sadakathullah Appa College, Tirunelveli.

The inaugural session began with a welcome address by Dr. A. Hamil, Head of the Department of Commerce & Controller of Examination , who welcomed the chief guests and participants. Dr. S.M. Abdul Khader, Principal of Sadakathullah Appa College, shared his valuable insights on the latest trends and innovations in technological based business operations and encouraged the participants.

Dr. S.M.A Syed Mohamed Kaja, Vice Principal of Unaided Courses, Sadakathullah Appa College, emphasized the importance of technological innovations in business operations in current trends.

The first technical session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. P. Geetha, Assistant Professor of Commerce. Dr. R. Vasantha Gopal, Senior Professor and Head of the Institute of Management in Kerala, University of Kerala, Trivandrum delivered the keynote address, focusing on the latest trends in technological based business operations. This session concluded by vote of thanks Dr M.N Mohamed Abusali Shiek Assistant Professor of Commerce.

The second technical session began with a welcome address by Dr. K. Shiek Mydeen, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce (Finance). Dr. B. Revathi, Dean of Arts, Professor, and Head of the Department of Commerce, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, shared her expertise on the topic. This topic provided a valuable platform for experts, researchers, and students to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices.

A total of 35 papers were presented both online and offline mode its covering various aspects of technological based business operations and innovation and challenges.

The seminar witnessed an overwhelming response, with over 200 participants, including eminent academicians, faculty members, and students.

Commerce Association Valedictory Function

PG and Research Department of Commerce organize its Valedictory Function on 07.04.2025 and the guest speaker Mr. M. Mohamed Nowfal Ariq, Chief Technical Officer, Entudio Private Limited, Tamilnadudelivered the Valedictory address. The programme commenced with Qirath followed by Tamil Thai Vazhthu. Dr. A.Hamil, Associate Professor and Head of PG and Research Department of Commerce welcomed the gathering. The Principal Dr. S.M. Abdul Kader, presides over the function and the Vice Principal Dr. S.M.A. Syed Mohamed Khaja, felicitates the function. The Chief Guest delivered the Valedictory address on “UNDERSTANDING DIGITAL MARKETING: A MORDERN APPROACH TO PROMOTION”. Digital marketing refers to the use of digital channels, platforms, and technologies to promote and advertise products or services. Digital marketing enables businesses to reach a wider audience in real-time, engage with customers directly, and measure the effectiveness of their campaigns through analytics. It is cost-effective compared to traditional marketing methods and provides more targeted and personalized ways to connect with consumers. He interacted with the student entrepreneurs. Interacting with student entrepreneurs is an exciting opportunity to inspire, share knowledge, and learn from their unique perspectives.The students who havecleared foundation/inter exams in CA/CMA/CS courses were honoured by our Chief Guest. Ms Izzath Fathima, of I M.Com proposed Vote of Thanks. Nearly 240 students of PG and Research Department of Commerce participated. All the faculty member of PG and Research Department of Commerce were actively participated with this initiative.
