PG and Research Department of Commerce inaugurated its Association Lecture on 25.08.2025 and the guest speakerCA.S. Rajalakshmi, B.Tech., ACA., Practicing Chartered Accountant, Properitor of S.Rajalakshmi Associates, Tirunelveli,delivers the Inaugural Address. The programme commenced with Qirath followed by Tamil Thai Vazhthu. Dr. A. Hamil,Associate Professor and Head, PG and Research Department of Commerce welcomed the gathering. Our Principal Dr. S. M. Abdul Kader,presides over the function. The Vice Principal Dr. Janet Rani , felicitates the function. The Chief Guest delivered the inaugural address on “Financial Implications of RERA”. She highlighted the transformative impact of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, on the financial landscape of the real estate sector. The speaker emphasized how RERA has brought about greater financial discipline by mandating that 70% of project funds be deposited in a separate escrow account, curbing fund diversion and ensuring timely project completion. The address also noted the shift towards formal financing, increased investor confidence, and the boost in transparency and accountability. While acknowledging challenges such as higher compliance costs and uneven implementation across states, the speaker concluded that RERA has laid a strong foundation for a more secure, transparent, and financially stable real estate environment in India.This Programme was very informative and fruitful for our students. PG and Research Department of Commerce jointly organises its first Guest Lecture Programme with The institute of Cost Accountants of India, Nellai Pearl City Chapter on 13.12.2025. Our Former Head of the Department CMA Jeyakumar, CMA Muthu Krishnan Sankar, Chairman, Nellai Pearl City Chapter andCMA Muthu Maharajan, Secretary Nellai Pearl City Chapter, felicitates the function. The Chief Guest CMA K. Gomathi Sankar, Regional Council Member SIRC of ICMAIdelivered the lecture on “Career Awareness Programme on CMA”. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about career opportunities, scope, and professional growth in the field of Cost and Management Accounting.During the lecture, the speaker explainedthe various career opportunities available to CMAs in areas such as corporate finance, cost control, strategic management, taxation, auditing, and consultancy. The speaker shared real-life experiences and industry insights, motivating students to pursue CMA as a career option. Guidance was also provided on preparation strategies, time management, and balancing academic studies with professional courses.Ms. C. Masana Petchi of I M.Com proposed Vote of Thanks. Nearly 205students of PG and Research Department of Commerce participated. This Programme was Successfully Organised by the Faculty Members of PG and Research Department of Commerce.
