Activities (2018-2019)

The Department of English (Aided) solemnized its Association Inauguration on 12.09.2018. Dr. R. Vasuhi, Assistant Professor of English, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University was the resource person. She spoke on Language and Literature. The department also organized a National Seminar on Drama as a Multimedial Narrative on 06.03.2019. Dr. K. Ganesh, Professor and Head, Dept. of English, Madras Christian College, Chennai, Professor Chandra Dasan, Artistic Director Lokadharmi Theatre, Writer and Actor, Kochi, Kerala and Dr. N. Elango, Associate Professor and Head, PG & Research Dept. of English, The American College, Madurai were the resource persons. Fifty nine students of the department went to the The Hindu Press, Madurai for an Industrial Visit on 11.10.2018.



A National Level Colloquium was organized by the department on 12.10.2018 titled, Women’s Writings of the 21st Century : Perspectives and Challenges. Dr. K. Sumathi K. Sripathi, Senior Lecturer, DMI, St.Eugene University, Lusaka, Zambia, Africa, Dr. Babitha Justin, Assistant Professor of Humanities, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Valiamala, Trivandrum and Dr. A. Nihamathullah, Former Head, Department of English (Aided), Sadakathullah Appa College, Rahmath Nagar were the resource persons of the seminar. Nearly 150 participants from in and around the colleges of Tamilnadu and from other states participated in the seminar.
