Behind Bountiful of Numbers: An Overview 21.08.2024

The First Guest Lecture of the Department of Mathematics for the academic year 2024-2025 was held on 21.08.2024 at 11.00 a.m. in the Auditorium, Sadakathullah Appa College (Autonomous), Tirunelveli. The Resource Person Ms. T. Jones, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Sarah Tucker College (Autonomous), Tirunelveli delivered a speech on the topic “Behind Bountiful of Numbers: An Overview”. 102 students attended the function.

National Mathematics Day 19.12.2024

The Department of Mathematics celebrated National Mathematics Day on 19.12.2024 at 08.30 a.m. in our classrooms. The Department conducted math competitions for our students. Ten teams participated in the Model Presentation, and Twelve teams participated in the Rangoli Competition in the theme of Mathematics. Dr. M. Sattanathan, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Sri Paramakalyani College, Alwarkurichi, acted as a judge for the competition. The best two model presentation and Rangoli designs were awarded shields.

GUEST LECTURE – II

Interesting Facts about Ramanujan 19.12.2024

The Department of Mathematics conducted Guest Lecture II on 19.12.2024 at 11.00 a.m. in the College Auditorium, Sadakathullah Appa College (Autonomous), Tirunelveli. The programme started with Qirath. Dr. S. M. Abdul Kader, Principal of the College gave the Presidential Address. The Chief Guest Dr. M. Sattanathan, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Sri Paramakalyani College, Alwarkurichi, gave a Lecture on the topic “Interesting Facts about Ramanujan”. We awarded shields to the students who won the math competitions conducted on National Mathematics Day. 95 participants attended the lecture.

One Day Institutional Workshop on AI-Powered Spreadsheets 24.02.2025

A one Day Institutional workshop on “AI-Powered Spreadsheet” was held at Sadakathullah Appa College (Autonomous), Tirunelveli on 24th February 2025 organised by Department of Mathematics in collaboration with Placement and Training Cell. Fourty six students from our Department students were participated in the workshop. The Workshop was inaugurated at 09.30 a.m. It started with Qirath by R. Mohamed Subair, III B.Sc. Mathematics. D. Ilham Nafia, II M.Sc. Mathematics students welcomed the gathering. Dr. S. M. Abdul Kader, Principal of the College delivered Presidential Address. Dr. Yunush Ahamed Mohamed Sherif, Placement Co-ordinator gave the felicitation address. After the inaugural function the Technical Session began at 10.45 a.m. The Resource Person Mr. M. H. Syed Ashiq Ilahi, Founder of Smart Tech, Melepalayam, provided a hands on training on the Topic “AI-Powered Spreadsheets”. The Second Technical Session began at 2.15 p.m. The valedictory function was held at 4.30.p.m. Dr. S. M. A. Syed Mohamed Khaja, Vice – Principal of the College delivered the Valedictory address and distributed the certificates to the participants. A.Dhivya, III B.Sc. Mathematics, gave the vote of thanks.

VALEDICTORY FUNCTION

Internship and Job Placement Strategies 27.02.2025

The Department of Mathematics conducted the Valedictory Function of Mathematics Association for the academic year 2024-2025 on 27.02.2025 at 08.30 a.m. in the Auditorium, Sadakathullah Appa College (Autonomous), Tirunelveli. The programme started with Qirath. Dr.S.M. Abdul Kader, Principal of the College gave the presidential address. The Resource Person Dr. S. Pasunkili Pandian, Associate Professor and Head, PG and Research Department of Mathematics, Aditanar College of Arts and Science, Tiruchendur delivered a speech on the topic “Internship and Job Placement Strategies”. We awarded shields to the students who got the first, second position in B.Sc., M.Sc., and Centum scored in Allied Mathematics for the academic year 2024-2025. 85 students attended the function.

The National Science Day 28.02.2025

The Department of Mathematics conducted The National Science Day on 28.02.2025 at 09.00 a.m. in the class of III B.Sc. Mathematics, Sadakathullah Appa College (Autonomous), Tirunelveli. The programme started with Qirath. We conducted some competitions like Mathematical Model, Quiz, PPT Presentation and Bioscope and awarded prizes to students who won the competitions conducted on The National Science Day. 91 Participants attended the special day.
