Activities - (2017-2018)

The Department of Physics inaugurated its Association activities on 17/8/2017 at the college E-Conference hall at 4:30 p.m. Dr. A. Effie Cordelia, Associate Professor of Physics, Sarah Tucker College, Tirunelveli, was the Guest of Honour. She delivered a lecture on Ferrofluids.

A Guest Lecture was conducted on 19/1/2018 at the college E-Conference hall at 4:30 p.m. Dr. F. Jeyamangalam, Associate Professor of Physics, Sarah Tucker College, Tirunelveli, was the Guest speaker. She talked on ‘Effect of Organic Amendments on the Soil Physical Properties’.

An Awareness Programme was conducted on 22/1/2018 at the college Seminar hall at 10 a.m. Shri. Vijayagopal P, Scientific Officer ‘F’, IGCAR, Kalpakkam, Shri. Ramesh Babu, Technical Officer, IGCAR, Kalpakkam, & Shri. Sri Kanthan, Scientific Assistant , IGCAR, Kalpakkam,, were the Resource Persons. They delivered lectures on Career Opportunities in the Department of Atomic Energy.

A National Seminar was organised on 9/3/2018 at the college Seminar hall at 10:00 a.m. Dr. S. Beer Mohammed, Associate Professor of Material Science, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Tiruvarur, Dr. S. Meenakshi Sundar, Associate Professor of Physics, Sri Paramakalyani College, Tirunelveli & Dr. Ginson p. Joseph, Assistant Professor of Physics, St. Thomas College, Kerala, was the Resource Person. They delivered a lecture on Recent Trends in Material Science. All the UG, PG students of the Department and the faculty attended the program.
