Activities - (2019-2020)

The Department of Physics saw its Association inauguration on 21/8/2019 at the college Seminar hall at 4:30 p.m. Dr. M. Melvin, Assistant Professor of Physics, St Xavier’s College, Tirunelveli, was the Guest Speaker. He delivered a lecture on Science Behind Nanotechnology.

A Guest Lecture was conducted on 10/1/2020 at the college E-Conference hall at 4:30 p.m. Dr. S. Paulraj, Associate Professor of Physics, St Xavier’s College, Tirunelveli, was the Guest Speaker. He delivered a lecture on Science and Technology in Israel.

A National Webinar was organised online on 28/5/2020 at 2:00 p.m. Dr. K. Sakthipandi, Associate Professor of Physics, Sethu Institute of Technology, Karaipatti & Dr. S. Varadharajaperumal, Technology manager, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, were the Resource Persons. They delivered lectures on Characterization Techniques for Novel Materials.

A team of PG students and the faculty of the Department of Physics went on a one day trip to Gandhigram University, Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, on 30/9/2019 under the leadership of Prof. A. Zeenath Bazeera, Assistant Professor of Physics.

A National Seminar was conducted on 28/2/2020 at the college seminar hall at 10:00 a.m. Dr. S. Varadharajaperumal, Technology manager, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, Prof. S. Sivakumar, Prof. of Physics, KREA University, Andra Pradesh, Dr. R. Raveendran, UGC Emeritus Professor, Sree Narayana College, Kollam, Dr. M. Ashok, Associate Professor of Physics, NIT, Tiruchirapalli, Dr. S. T. Nishanthi, Scientist, CECRI, Karaikudi, Dr. K. Sakthipandi, Associate Professor of Physics, Sethu Institute of Technology, Karaipatti, & Dr. K. Mohan Raj, Assistant Professor of Physics, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, was the Resource Person. They delivered a lecture on Emerging Trends in Physics. All the UG, PG students of the Department and the faculty attended the program.
