Activities - (2016-2017)

The Department of Microbiology inaugurated its Association for the academic year 2016 on August 19. Dr. Johnson Rajeswar, Professor and Head, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli, was the guest speaker. The Department, subsequently, organized two guest lectures. On October 10, Mr. M.A. Mohamed Ibrahim, Fish Products Quality Supervisor, Fisheries Research Centre Laboratory, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, delivered a talk on Role of Microbiologists to Maintain Quality Control in Food Industries. The Department also organized two day Workshop on Molecular Techniques (MOLTEC- 2017) on 09.01.2017 and 10.01.2017. Dr. A. Palavesam, Professor and Head, Department of Animal Science, M.S. University; Dr. S. Sudhakar, Professor and Head, Department of Biotechnology, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University; and Mr. V. Saravanaperumal, General Manager, Abbes Biotech, Chennai, were the Resource persons.
