Activities - (2019-2020)

The PG and Research Department of Microbiology inaugurated its Association for the academic year 2019 with activities on July, 29. Dr. M. Kannan, Assistant Professor in Zoology, VHNSN College, Virudhunagar, was the chief guest. He delivered a lecture on the topic “Food Pollution Risk Assessment and Management”. National Science day Celebration was held on 28th February, 2020 at 10 am in the College Auditorium. The program was inaugurated by Dr. M. Mohamed Sathik, Principal of the College. Dr. A. Abdul Kader, Director of Unaided courses, SadakathullahAppa College felicitated the Medicamp organized by the Department of Microbiology along with the Consultancy Cell, Fit India, Department of Zoology and Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. The Department, subsequently, organized a guest lecture on January 27, 2020 with Dr. Joys Selva Mary Albert as the invited speaker. She delivered a talk on “Opportunities of Microbiologist in Industries”. The Department also organized an International Seminar on August, 21 with the title International Conference on “Entrepreneurship in Microbiology”. Dr. John JeyasingamThambirajah, Associate Professor, Faculty of Business and Management, AIMST University, Semeling 08100, Kedah D.A. Malaysia; Dr. D. Prabhu, General Manager, JC Food Industries, Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu; and Dr. N. Jeyakumar, Department of Microbiology, Kamarajar Government College, Surandai, Tamil Nadu, were the resource persons. Almost 380 participants were benefitted from the seminar.
