Inauguration ceremony of Department of Microbiology was held at Sadakathullah Appa College, Palayamkottai. Mr.Issuddin of IIIrd B.Sc Microbiology recited the Qurath and Ms. Anusha and Varshini IInd B.Sc Microbiology started the function by singing Tamil Thai Valthu. Dr. R. Janet Rani, Head & Assistant Professor of Department delivered the welcome address. College vice Principal, S.M.A Syed Mohammed Khaja presided over the assembly and Dr. S. Meenakshi introduced the special guest. Dr. Surya Prabha, Researcher, Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital spoke on “Clinical Studies on Zebra Fish Species”.
On the occasion, students such as Suchithira, Ravhana, Mahalakshmi, Asma, Shukara, Sabrin, Abrin, Nasreen, Perakchi, Monika and Harini, Varshini, Sterling, who created the best works in the model making and new logo design competitions held for students as part of the silver jubilee celebrations of the Department of Microbiology Keertana, Hajira, Subashini, Vishnupriya, Shabana, Rihanna, Shruti, Vishal, Airathan, Monisha, Bhuvaneswari and Tariq were felicitated with awards. Dr. P Jayaseela delivered the vote of thanks. Professors Chitra, Sharif, Feroz Khan and Manohar arranged for the function. Students Sterling and Vandana hosted the ceremony.

Mr.Issuddin of III B.Sc Microbiology recited the Qurath and Ms. Anusha, Suhaina and Varshini of III B.Sc Microbiology started the function by singing TaImil Thai Vazhthu. Dr. R. Janet Rani, Head & Assistant Professor of Department delivered the welcome address. The Principal, Dr.S.M. Abdul Kader delivered the presidential address. The VicePrincipal, Dr.S.M.A Syed Mohammed Khaja felicitated the gathering. He Chief Guest was Mr.S.Abilash, Senior Associate Microbiologist of Viatris Jigami, Bangalore gave a special lecture on ‘Quality Assurance in Pharmaceutical Sector. Dr. K.Kavitha delivered the vote of thanks. Assistant Professors Dr. Chitra, Mr. Sherief, Dr. Feroz Khan, Dr. Manohar, Dr. S. Meenakshi and Dr. JeyaSheela arranged for the function. Students of B.Sc. Microbiology - Sterling and Vandana hosted the ceremony.
A One-day International Seminar on the Recent Trends in “The Role of Microbiota in Human Health and Diseases (RTMHD’23)” was organized by the PG and Research Department of Microbiology, Sadakathullah Appa College (Autonomous) on 28thDecember 2023, funded by the Magnanimous Management of Sadakathullah Appa College. The Head of PG and Research Department of Microbiology, Dr. R. Janet Rani welcomed the gathering in the inaugural session, followed by the Presidential address of Dr. S.M. Abdul Kader, Principal. The VicePrincipal Dr. S.M.A. Syed Mohamed Khaja felicitated the inaugural session with his motivational address. Dr. M. Narayanan, former Controller of Examinations and Dr. H. Syed Othuman, former Principal of Sadakathullah Appa College felicitated the function. The Resource Person, Dr. T. Joseph Jillwin, Assistant Professor, American University of Antigua, College of Medicine, St. John’s, Antigua, West Indies, delivered the Key Note Address highlighting the “Recent Trends in the Role of Microbiota in Human Health and Diseases”. The Inauguration session was ended with Vote of thanks by Dr. K. Feroz Khan.
Following Inaugural session, Faculties, Research Scholars, Post Graduate and Under Graduate students from various institutions presented their research works in the form of Oral and Poster presentations. Dr. M. Manohar welcomed the gathering to the Valedictory function. The Principal, Dr. S.M. Abdul Kader delivered the valedictory address and distributed the prizes and awards to the winners. The VicePrincipal Dr. S.M.A. Syed Mohamed Khaja distributed the certificates to all the participants. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. S. Meenakshi. Totally 250 participants from various Colleges, Universities and Research Institutions registered and participated in the International Seminar.
PG & Research Department of Microbiology, Sadakathullah Appa College, Tirunelveli, conducted the Valedictory of Microbiology Association on 5th April 2024, which was held at college auditorium. Mr.Sirajudin of IIrd B.Sc Microbiology recited the Qurath and Ms. D. Anusha, M. Suhaina Nizwan and V.S. Varshini IInd B.Sc Microbiology sang the Tamil Thai Vazthu. Dr. R. Janet Rani, Head & Assistant Professor of PG & Research Department of Microbiology delivered the welcome address. Dr.S.M. Abdul Kader, Principal, Sadakathullah Appa College presided over the ceremony. Dr. S.M.A Syed Mohammed Khaja Vice-Principal felicitated the gathering and Dr. P. Jeyasheela, Assistant Professor of Microbiology introduced the guest, Dr. S.A.Neveythaa, Government Medical officer, Primary Health Centre, Kadambur & Consultant, Dermatologist & Cosmetologist, Arul Health Care Centre, Tirunelveli town and she delivered the keynote address on “Superficial Fungal Infections” Dr. S.M.A Syed Mohammed Khaja, Vice- Principal distributed the certificates to the students of IIrd B.Sc Microbiology, who successfully completed their NPTEL programme in courses viz., Biological process design for waste water treatment and Emotional Intelligence and to the prize winners of various competitions conducted by the PG & Research Department of Microbiology during the academic year 2023-2024. Dr. K. Kavitha, Assistant Professor of Microbiology delivered the vote of thanks. Dr. K. Chitra, Dr. M. Feroz Khan, Dr. M. Manohar, Mr. S. Hameedullah Sherief and Dr. S. Meenakshi Assistant Professors of Microbiology and Mr. Kanthaiya, Lab Assistant played a vital role in organizing the valedictory of Microbiology Association. Ms. Mohideen Nisha, IInd B.Sc Microbiology hosted the ceremony.
