Activities - (2017-2018)

      The academic year 2017 for the Department of Microbiology began with the inauguration of its Association on August 13. Dr. A. Peer Mohideen, Assistant Professor of Microbiology, Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was the guest speaker
      The Department organized two guest lectures subsequently. The first guest lecture was organized on August 21. With Dr. R. Napoleon B.Sc., M.D., Professor of Microbiology, SreeMookambika Institute of Medical Sciences, Kulasekharam, Kanyakumari, as the resource person. He enlightened the audience on the topic ‘Emerging and Reemerging Infections’. The second guest lecture was conducted on October 4th. Dr. P. Ashok Kumar, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology, Sokoto State University, Sokoto, Nigeria, was the resource person. He addressed on Career Opportunities and Higher Studies in Microbiology. The Department also organized an International Seminar on ‘Awareness on Epidemic Diseases (ISAED- 2018)’ on February 13, 2018. Dr. M. JasminSajna, MRCR (UK), Consultant Rheumatologist, Jazbah, Cardiac & Rheumatology Clinic, Tirunelveli; Dr. T. Starlin Raj, Visiting Scientist, Plant Protection Unit, Agricultural Research Organization (ARO), Israel, were the resource persons.
