Association Inauguration

PG & Research Department of Microbiology inaugurated the Microbiology Association on 11th September 2024 in the seminar hall. Dr. R. Janet Rani, Head of the Department welcomed the gathering. Dr. S. M. Abdul Kader, Principal delivered the presidential address followed by Dr. S. M. A. Syed Mohamed Khaja, Vice Principal delivered the felicitation address. Dr. K. Chitra, Assistant Professor introduced the guest Dr. S. Prakash, Principal Scientist, Finura Agro Tech LLP, Thovalai. He delivered his lecture about "Unlocking the secrets of Human Microbiome". Vote of thanks was rendered by Dr. K. Feroz Khan, Assistant Professor. Master of ceremony was done by Varshini and Shameera of III B.Sc., Microbiology.

Three-Day Skill Development Programme on Food Safety Management System ISO 22000:2018 – Internal Auditor Training

A three-day Skill Development Programme on ‘Food Safety Management System ISO 22000:2018 - Internal Auditor Training’ was organised by the PG & Research Department of Microbiology, Sadakathullah Appa College, Tirunelveli. Valedictory programme held at the college auditorium on 03.02.2025. Dr. M. Krishnamoorthy, Business Head, Qmax Business Assurance, Chennai conducted seven comprehensive sessions over the two days. The training programme covered critical aspects of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) ISO 22000:2018, with a special focus on internal auditing techniques.

Career Guidance Programme Organized by PG & Research Department of Microbiology & The Training and Placement Cell

The PG and Research Department of Microbiology Association guest lecture was conducted on 14th February 2025 at 10.30 am in our college Auditorium. Mr. Sirajudeen, III B.Sc. Microbiology recited Qirath, Dr. S.M. Abdul Kader, Principal, honored the chief guest Dr. M. Jayahar Bharathi, Quality Manager, Royal Hospital, Tirunelveli with a shawl.

Dr. R. Janet Rani, Assistant Professor& Head, Dept. of Microbiology delivered the welcome address and Dr. K. Chitra introduced the chief guest. Dr. S. M. Abdul Kader, Principal delivered the Presidential address, Dr. S. M. A. Syed Mohamed Khaja, Vice Principal felicitated the gathering. Resource person Dr. M. Jayahar Bharathi delivered a speech on “Career opportunities in Clinical Diagnostics”. Totally 185 students were participated in the career guidance programme along with nine staff members of PG & Research Department of Microbiology. Dr. K. Feroz Khan, Assistant Professor of Microbiology delivered vote of thanks.

Commeration of Rare Disease Day on 28.02.2025 Interdepartmental Competitions

The PG & Research Department of Microbiology at Sadakathullah Appa College conducted the Interdepartmental Competitions in the observance of the Commemoration of Rare Disease Day on 28.02.2025. The following competitions were conducted to the students viz., Model making for UG first year students - Dr. M. Vadivel Devi, Assistant Professor, Department of Nutrition & Dietetics, SAC and Dr. S. Meenakshi, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology, SAC served as a chair person. Poster Presentation for UG second year students Dr. M. Sithi Jameela, Associate Professor & COE, Department of Zoology, SAC, and Dr. A.Radha, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology, SAC, chaired the session. Oral presentation UG third year students Dr. M.Vadivel Devi, Assistant Professor, Department of Nutrition & Dietetics and Dr.P. Jeya Sheela, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology, SAC, served as an evaluator Quiz for UG third year & PG students Dr. K. Chitra, Dr. K.Feroz Khan, and Mr. S. Hameedullah Sherief, Assistant Professors, Department of Microbiology, SAC conducted the programme and concluded the result. Art from waste and Petriart for PG students. Dr. M.I. Deligta Mano Joyce Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, SAC, and Dr. M. Manohar Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology, SAC chaired the session. Dr. S.M. Abdul Kader, Principal during the Valediction of Microbiology Association on 06.03.2025, distributed prizes for the competitions.

Valedictory of Microbiology Association 2024-25

Valediction of Microbiology Association was organized by the PG & Research Department of Microbiology, Sadakathullah Appa College, Tirunelveli. Valedictory programme held at the college auditorium on 06.03.2025. The event began with an insightful Welcome Address by Dr. R. Janet Rani, Head PG & Research Department of Microbiology. The Presidential Address by Dr. S.M. Abdul Kader, Principal of Sadakathullah Appa College, followed by the Felicitation Address by Dr. S.M.A. Syed Mohamed Khaja, Vice Principal, who emphasized the importance of oral health. Report on Commemeration on Rare Disease Day was rendered by Dr. P. Jeya Sheela and the prizes was distributed by the Principal of the college for the event conducted on the observation of Commemoration of Rare Disease Day. Dr. M. Sithi Jameela Controller of Examinations facilitated the gathering. Dr. K. Kavitha Introduced the chief guest Dr. Al Zainab Fatima MDS, Dental Specialist, Dr.Hassan Ibrahim Dental Clinic, Murugankurichi, Tirunelveli. She gave a keynote speech on “Ramalan and Oral Health” Dr. S. Hameedullah Sherief, Assistant Professor of the Department of Microbiology, extended the Vote of Thanks. The faculty members from the Department of Microbiology Dr. K. Chitra, Dr. K. Feroz Khan, Dr. M. Manohar, Dr. S. Meenakshi, and Dr. A. Radha made significant arrangements for the smooth conduct of the programme.
