Activities – (2018-2019)

      The Department of Physics Association was inaugurated on 12.10.2018. Dr. M. Mohamed Sathik, Principal of our college presided over the event. Dr. A. Abdul Kader, Director, Unaided courses felicitated the gathering. Dr. N. Vijayan, CSIR- National Physical Laboratory of India, New Delhi delivered the special lecture on “Crystals in Everyday Life”.

National seminar on “Recent Trends in Material Science-2019”

Two Day National Seminar on “Emerging Trends in Physics – 2019 “ was organised by the Department of Physics on 10th & 11th January, 2019. Mr. K. Rabi Ahamed, Head, Department of Physics welcomed the gathering. Principal of our college Dr. M. Mohamed Sathik presided over the programme. Dr. S. H. Mohamed Ameen, Controller of Examinations, Head, Research centre of Physics, introduced the theme of the seminar. Dr. A. Abdul Kader, Director of Unaided Courses, felicitated the gathering. Dr. N. Vijayan, CSIR- National Physical laboratory of India, New Delhi delivered the Inaugural address. The Chief Guests Dr. N. Vijayan, CSIR- National Physical laboratory of India, New Delhi, Dr. Basherrudin Mahmud Ahmed, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai and Dr. P. Selvarajan, Aditanar college of Arts & Science, Tiruchendur delivered a talk on the first day of the programme. Dr. Sankaranarayanan, NIT, Tiruchirapalli, Dr.Rita John, University of Madras, Chennai, Dr. I. Hubert Joe, Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram and Dr. B. Sundrakannan, Manonmaniam Sundarnar University, Tirunelveli acted as the resource persons for the second day. The programme came to an end with vote of thanks proposed by Dr. M. Mohamed Roshan, Assistant Professor of Physics.

Industrial visit (2018-2019)

The students from the Department of Physics visited the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant on 20.02.2019. Staff members Prof. K. Rabi Ahamed, Head & Department of Physics, Dr. S.M. Abdul Kader, Dr. M. Mohamed Roshan, Dr.V.Chinnathambi , Dr. R. Kumuthini and Dr. D. Sathya accompanied the students.
