Department of Physics Association was inaugurated on 28.08.2019. Dr. M. Mohamed Sathik, Principal of the college, presided over the event. Dr. John Prince Soundranayagam, Associate Professor of Physics and IQAC co-ordinator, VOC College, Thoothukudi delivered a special lecture on “Carrier Opportunities of Physics students”.
Two Day National Seminar on “Emerging Trends in Physics – 2020” was organised by the Department of Physics, on 28th & 29th February, 2020. Welcome address was given by Dr. S. H. Mohamed Ameen, Head, Department of Physics and Controller of Examinations. Principal of our college Dr. M. Mohamed Sathik, presided over the programme. Dr. S. M. Abdul Kader, Head, Research centre of Physics & Dean of Sciences, introduced the theme of seminar. Dr. A. Abdul Kader, Director of Unaided Courses, felicitated the gathering. Dr. S. Varadharaja perumal, Technology Manager, Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru gave the Inaugural address. The Invited talks on Day-I (28.02.2020) was given by Dr. S. Varadharaja perumal, Technology Manager, Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, Dr. S. T. Nishanthi, Scientist, CECRI, Karaikudi and Dr. K. Sakthipandi, Department of Physics, Sethu Institute of Technology, Kariapatti. The Invited Talks on Day –II (29.02.2020) was given by Dr. R. Raveendran, Principal (Retd), UGC Emeritus Professor, Sree Narayana College, Kollam, Dr. M. Ashok, NIT, Tiruchirapalli, Prof. S. Siva kumar, Prof. of Physics, Divisional Chair, Sciences, KREA University, Andhra Pradesh and Dr. K. Mohan Raj, Department of Physics, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. The Valedictory address was delivered by Dr.S. John Kennady Vethanathan, Principal, St. John’s College, Palayamkottai.
