Activities - (2019-2020)

The Department of Tamil (Aided and Unaided) inaugurated its Association activities on 18.07.2019 with a guest lecture on the topic, Kalai Naadum Manam by Mr. K. Rajakrishnan, Arts and Crafts Teacher, The White International School, Dubai. Tamil Readers’ Forum was conducted on 09.08.2019 on the topic Pandichi Novelai Mun vaithu Puthina Peruveli. Mrs. Alli Fathima, Tamil Novelist, Kumuli, was the resource person. Mahakavi Bharathiyar Memorial Lecture was organized on 13.09.2019. Mrs. J. Deepa, Editor and Translator gave an invited talk on the topic Parandhu Virium Oodaga Vaanam. The World Mother Tongue Day was observed on 21.02.2020. Mr. V. Senthil Nayagam, Tamil Scholar from Tirunelveli was the resource person. The department also conducted a programme on 10.03.2020. Mr. Neelan, Film Director and Poet, Chennai highlighted on the topic Padai perum Arungalai. Mr. Muthalanguruchi Kamaraj, Archaelogist, Tirunelveli spoke on the topic on the Archaelogical Research on Athichanallur.The Department of Tamil and the German Tamil Heritage foundation jointly organized an International Seminar on the theme Thollial Nokkil Ulaga Tamilar Panpaadu on 04.10.2019. Dr. S. Surya Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Music, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka were the invited chief resouce persons. Sadakath – Research Bulletin, special edition was released with ISSN Number: 2347-7644. On 04.10.2019, department of Tamil of Sadakathullah Appa College in collaboration with German Tamil Heritage released the proceedings of International Conference. Wavoo Endowment Lecture was organized on 17.12.2019, Dr. M. Samsudeen Jamali, Guest Lecturer, Department of Arabic, Madras University, Chennai delivered a lecture on the topic, Aanmiga Paadhaiyil Abdul Kadhir Jeelani avargalin Thanithuvam. Sathavathani Seyhu Thambi Paavalar Endowment lecture was organized on 15.02.2020. Dr. M. Najma, Department of Tamil, Pachaiyappa Women’s College, Kanjipuram delivered a lecture on Islamiya Puthina Ilakkiyangal.
