The Department of Zoology had its inauguration of its Association on 07.08.2015 with a special lecture on Bioelicitors from Sea Weed. Two guest lectures were organized by the Department – one on the topic Career Opportunities for Zoologist on 05.10.2015 and the other on Endangered Species on 12.02.2016.
A UGC-sponsored Seminar on Recent Innovations and Developments in Biological Science was conducted on 20.10.2015. Dr. M. Jeyalakshmi of Madurai Kamaraj University, Dr. S. Balasubramanian, and Dr. Narayanan, Vice Principal of St. Xavier’s College and Former Controller of Examinations, Sadakathullah Appa College, were the resource persons.
A Workshop on Basic Statistics Using SPSS and Excel was also organized on 05th and 06th of Janurary, 2016. Dr. K. Marimuthu, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology, AIMST, was the resource person.
