The Department of Zoology had the inauguration of its Association on 20.07.2017 with Dr. Pauline Suganthy Vijayabharathy, Formerly Associate Professor, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Sadakathullah Appa College, Tirunelveli, as Chief Guest. The Department also organized three guest lectures. The first guest lecture was on the topic Importance of Animal Preservation on 17.08.2017 and Dr. A. Palavesam, Professor and Head, Department of Animal Science, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Alwarkurichi was the Resource Person. The second guest lecture An Awareness programme on Science was organized on 23.08.2017. Dr. C. Sudhakar, Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli and Ms. Sirpi Bama, Founder, Sirpi Bama Arakkattalai were the chief guests. The third guest lecture Benefits of Herbal Plants was conducted on 26.09.2017 and Dr. B. Michael Jeyaraj was the Resource Person. The Department also organized a quiz program on 04.01.2018 titled Enviro Zoo Fest – 18. Around 80 students participated in the programme.
