ACTIVITIES 2023-2024

The Inaugural Function of UG Department of Zoology Association was held on 27.07.2023 at 10.30 A.M. in the college Seminar Hall. Dr.S.Kalidass, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Animal science, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli was the chief guest. He delivered a speech on the title Bio- Prospecting Marine Actinomycetes for Human Therapeutics". He motivated and enriched the knowledge of the students in Antimicrobial activity of Actinomycetes and its role in human therapy.

The Guest Programme of Department of Zoology & Botany was conducted on 08.08.2023 at 10.30 A.M. Mr. A. Mohamed Ansar, Associate professor Department of Pharmaceutics, S.A. Raja Pharmacy College, Vadakandulam, was the chief guest. He delivered a speech on the title "Plant Source Deals With Allopathy Formulations" and highlighted the medicinal plants value. Mrs. Siva Sathyavalli District Curator, Govt. Museum, Tirunelveli. Was also delivered a special address on "Taxidermy in Museum" and she gave the Taxidermy Procedure.

Department of Zoology organized a workshop on “Entrepreneurial Opportunities on Bee Keeping” on 22.09.2023 at College Seminar Hall. Mr. S. Esakki Muthu, Entrepreneur, Kamala Natural Honey Bee Farm, Malayadipudur, Tirunelveli gave the hands on training to the students and highlighted the importance of beekeeping and its value.
